of steak dishes after Chateaubriand and Rossini. Such kitsch pays
tribute to a formidable recognition. Why are American streets so
silent to the remembrance of thought?

Curt Barnes is a painter living in New York City. He holds degrees
from University of California at Berkeley and Pratt Institute; he
received a National Endowment in painting in 1993, a grant to study
in Rome in 1998, and a Golden Foundation Grant in 2003. He exhibits
regularly in New York and has shown in Europe, South America, and
Asia.
