Bro

Artist's Statement: 'Bro' started life as an entry in the Roger Corman Quarantine Film Festival, in which the acclaimed film director asked participants to create a two-minute film at home on their cell phones.
Responding to a lot of the anxieties and frustration I've felt during the pandemic, I came up with an idea about a man being held hostage in his apartment by a neighbor who doesn't believe that Covid19 is real.
I shot and edited the video over a three-day period, with myself playing all the parts and my crappy cell phone camera duct-taped to a tripod, or on my front door. I also called upon fellow filmmaker Elias Santos to provide the voice of 'Larry', as I'd just seen him do a video impersonation of his father that was both hysterical, and close to how I thought Larry should sound.
Unfortunately, I couldn't edit the film down any less than two and a half minutes, and so I missed the deadline for the film festival. Regardless, I uploaded the film to YouTube, and have been surprised at the positive response it's getting! I'm thrilled that the fine folks at Caveat Lector have asked to post it on their site, and hope you enjoy watching 'Bro', or, as my partner calls it: 'Brovid19'.
