Synopsis:
The first hydrogen bomb test in the Bikini Atoll in 1954 proved to
be 1000 times more powerful than the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and
Hiroshima. "Bikini Kansho," Japanese for bikini atoll, is
a film about the displaced people of the Bikini Atoll, the Daigo Fukuryu
Maru (a Japanese ship fishing near the Bikini Atoll at the time of
the blast) and the ensuing anti-nuclear war movement. It is a glimpse
at the effects on people's health worldwide from nuclear testing both
past and present. "Bikini Kansho" is a documentary about destruction,
resiliency and connecting with one another. |
